Prof. Dr. Berkan Mersa is a renowned plastic and reconstructive surgeon specializing in hand surgery and microsurgery. Born in 1967 in Karşıyaka, İzmir, he completed his medical education at Ege University Medical School in 1991. He then pursued his residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Istanbul University Medical School from 1992 onwards. Dr. Mersa furthered his expertise with a research and clinical fellowship in Reconstructive Microsurgery and Peripheral Nerve Surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA, USA, under the guidance of Dr. Julia K. Terzis between 1998 and 1999. Since 1999, he has been actively involved in hand surgery and microsurgery.
